From 1987 to 1993, she was a dancer for the Ballet de Arte Folklorico of the Universidad de Buenos Aires. She began her singing career in Buenos Aires in 1995. She has performed in Argentina, Europe and the US. Patricia now lives and teaches in Cincinnati Ohio.

Virginia Malton

Virginia discovered the Argentine Tango in 1989 during the performance of Tango Argentino at Riverbend Theatre in Cincinnati. From that time until this, she has had a compelling drive to learn the dance and help others learn it. She has taught for the past three years in Lexington and Cincinnati and has performed exhibition Tangos in Lexington and the Dayton and Cincinnati areas. She has researched the history of the dance and studied with the masters in New York, Miami, San Francisco, Montreal, and Europe. One of her primary interests is to promote a dance community for people who appreciate and enjoy this beautiful dance.

Michael Wizer

Michael began dancing nine years ago. The foundation of his dancing comes from Danel and Maria in New York City. Early in his development he had the good fortune to see and take classes with some of the great show dancers and milongueros from the earlier generation, such as Juan Carlos Copes, Maria Nieves, Pepito Avellaneda, as well as some of the more contemporary dancers, such as Miguel and Osvaldo Zotto, Milena Plebs, and Gustavo Naviera. More off his recent development comes from teachers such as Brigitte Winkler and Tomás Howlin, who are gifted at explaining how the dance works.

He has taught weekly tango classes for 9 years beginning in Pittsburg, and is proud to have had an important role in getting the dance community started there, and later in Lexington, getting that tango community started, and also in Cincinnati for the last five years.

Michael teaches ongoing lessons at the Maitri Center in Northside, 4120 Hamilton Avenue, over the post office. Michael is assisted by Nuria Lopez-Ortega and Deborah Vigna. Michael has been teaching tango for 10 years in Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and Lexington.

Argentine Tango with Michael Wizer
An Introduction to Tango Vals and Milonga at the Maitri Center in Northside (4120 Hamilton Ave)

Milonga and Tango Vals along with Tango make up the triad of music and dance forms of the Argentine Tango. Milonga is the oldest of the dance forms and is a faster more simple rhythmical and figurative dance form, and Vals is danced to 3/4 time and often uses turning steps to accent the roundness of the rhythm. In both classes we will emphasize musicality and the classic figures of these dance forms.
